Fiber optic cable splicing and termination commercial installation

Inside Plant & Outside Plant Fiber Optics

High-Bandwidth Backbone. Installed to Last.

From planning and pathway design through splicing, termination, and certification — VIP Telecom delivers fiber infrastructure built for the demands of commercial facilities, campuses, and outdoor plant environments.

All Types of Fiber. One Contractor.

VIP Telecom installs, splices, terminates, and certifies fiber optic infrastructure for commercial facilities across the Treasure Valley and throughout Idaho. Whether the work is inside a building, between buildings on a campus, or running underground or aerial between sites, we handle the full scope — from pathway design through OTDR-certified closeout documentation.

ISP

Inside Plant (ISP) Fiber

Backbone runs within buildings and equipment rooms

Inside plant fiber connects your MDFs, IDFs, and equipment rooms within a single building. This is precision work — proper bend radius, correct enclosure dressing, and thorough testing at every run. We install single-mode and multimode fiber through conduit, cable tray, and innerduct, and deliver OTDR and insertion loss certification reports at closeout.

  • MDF-to-IDF backbone runs
  • Single-mode and multimode fiber
  • Conduit, cable tray, and innerduct installation
  • Fusion splicing with calibrated equipment
  • Field-terminated and pre-terminated assemblies
  • Enclosure, panel, and cassette dressing
  • OTDR and insertion loss certification testing
  • Printed certification reports at project closeout
OSP

Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber

Campus runs, aerial, and direct-buried infrastructure

Outside plant fiber connects separate buildings, campuses, and remote sites. OSP work requires different materials, methods, and planning than inside plant — armored cable, proper burial depth, conduit sweeps, splice vaults, and aerial strand attachment. VIP Telecom handles the full OSP scope for commercial and industrial facilities.

  • Campus and multi-building fiber interconnects
  • Direct-buried armored fiber cable
  • Conduit-based underground runs
  • Aerial fiber on existing strand or new lashing
  • Splice vault and handhole installation
  • Outdoor-rated enclosures and pedestals
  • Fusion splicing and OTDR testing on all OSP runs
  • Coordination with civil and electrical trades

Full Scope of Work

Fiber Backbone Planning

Route planning, fiber count sizing, and pathway design for both inside and outside plant — coordinated with your IT team and any other trades on site.

Inside Plant Installation

Single-mode and multimode fiber pulled through conduit, cable tray, or innerduct with proper bend radius and protection. MDF-to-IDF backbone runs and equipment room links.

Outside Plant Installation

Direct-buried armored cable, conduit-based underground runs, and aerial fiber on strand. Campus interconnects and multi-site links built to OSP standards.

Fusion Splicing

Fusion splicing performed with calibrated equipment on both ISP and OSP runs. Splice loss tested and documented at every joint.

Termination

Field-terminated or pre-terminated assemblies installed and dressed in enclosures, panels, cassettes, and outdoor pedestals.

Certification Testing

OTDR and insertion loss testing with printed certification reports delivered at project closeout — for both inside and outside plant infrastructure.

Repair & Restoration

Fiber break locating, splice repair, and re-termination for existing ISP and OSP infrastructure. We find it, fix it, and test it.

Why Fiber for Your Backbone

Distance Without Degradation

Fiber carries high-bandwidth signals across long runs without the attenuation limits of copper — essential for large facilities, multi-building campuses, and outdoor plant connections.

Future-Ready Capacity

A properly sized fiber backbone supports 10G, 40G, and 100G upgrades without pulling new cable — inside the building or across the campus.

Certified and Documented

Every run tested and reported. Your team receives documentation that supports warranty claims, future troubleshooting, and as-built records.

Service Area

We serve commercial facilities across the Treasure Valley and throughout Idaho — Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Eagle, Caldwell, Kuna, Star, Garden City, Mountain Home, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls, Pocatello, and beyond. If you're in Idaho, we can get there.

Common Questions

Do you do outside plant fiber as well as inside plant?
Yes. VIP Telecom handles both inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) fiber — including direct-buried armored cable, conduit-based underground runs, aerial fiber on strand, splice vaults, and campus interconnects between buildings.
Do you serve Meridian, Nampa, and the Treasure Valley?
Yes. VIP Telecom serves commercial facilities throughout the Treasure Valley — Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Eagle, Caldwell, Kuna, Star, and Garden City — as well as statewide Idaho projects.
What fiber certifications do you provide?
We deliver OTDR and insertion loss certification testing with printed reports at project closeout. Our team holds Fluke certification and Corning certification for fiber work.
Do you do both single-mode and multimode fiber?
Yes. We install single-mode and multimode fiber for backbone runs, campus connections, and equipment room links — selected based on your distance requirements and bandwidth needs.
Can you repair existing fiber infrastructure?
Yes. We locate fiber breaks, perform fusion splice repairs, and re-terminate connectors on existing ISP and OSP infrastructure — with testing and documentation at completion.
